DrinkUp is a party game you play in the browser. There are no accounts, no ads and no third-party trackers. This page explains the little we do process, and why.
Who we are

When you play
- Your nickname. You pick it; there's no need to use your real name. The other players in your room see it. Our server keeps it in memory only while your room is open.
- A random device ID in a cookie, so that if your phone locks or you refresh, you get your seat back. It's a random string, not linked to you in any way.
We need both to run the game.
Anonymous usage statistics
We keep counts to see how DrinkUp is doing:
- per day: how many times the app was opened, how many first-time visitors there were, and how many new players joined, split by whether they joined a friend's room or started their own;
- which app DrinkUp was opened in (for example Instagram or TikTok), read from the browser's standard user-agent information;
- per room: which games were played, how many players there were, and how long it lasted.
These are totals only. We don't store your device ID, nickname or IP address with them, and nothing in them can be traced back to you or your device. We don't use any extra cookies for statistics.
Server logs
Our server keeps a technical log for troubleshooting. It can include nicknames and connection IDs. The log is erased every time the server restarts, the server restarts at least once per 24 hours.
Cookies and storage on your device
All of these make the game work or remember your settings. None are used for advertising or tracking.

Your rights
We don't store anything that identifies you. The cookies above live only on your device, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings (you'll get a new device ID and lose your remembered nickname). If you think we're handling data wrongly, you can complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
